My Role

Full-stack developer. I built the MERN app, the JWT and Auth0 authentication, and the community voting mechanics.

Overview

Stonk Market is a fun project inspired by the "stonks" meme. Users can invest in memes, and the prices go up or down based on community upvotes/downvotes. It's not real money - just a playground for learning full-stack and real-time systems.

Tech Stack

Frontend: React with Redux, Recharts for graphs

Why I Built It

Mostly to learn real-time systems and have fun with it. The valuation algorithm considers upvotes, trending status, and a decay factor for stale memes. It's a good way to experiment with new tech without pressure.
